The male Violet-tailed Sylph has to rank among the most stunning hummingbirds in the world. The first time I saw one I was in awe. However, composing an image with that long tail is a serious challenge. Finding a flower that works for such a task is not easy. I felt that this epiphyte flower worked well and that its long grass-like leaves filled out the frame nicely. I'd love to hear your thoughts though.

I just love this species!

This capture and bird absolutely rock. I love the setup and the composition you have chosen. The damaged leaf adds a lot to make this environment realistic.

Glenn, you nailed the comp nicely. Let alone trying to get the comp right, one has to make sure that you dont cut the tail whilst capturing the image. Nicely framed between the grasses, and this certainly is a good looking fellow. Well done.

Great image design, Glenn. Only suggestion would be to possibly darken down the bright area at the base of the flower a little. Good job.

Congratulations on a beautifully captured image. If I ever see this bird, I don't know if I would be able to take my eyes off binoculars, long enough to try to take a picture. What a stunning Hummingbird!
