This RSH took a break from sitting on eggs just as the sun was rising. I took the shot from a Trekker T-100 blind right as the sun bathed the bird and its surroundings. I like tee pee shaped blinds because the angle at the bottom provides room for my tripod legs to spread out.

Very nice catch, Danny. Sharp and good eye. It is a pity it wanted to sit with so many branches. But--the only one that really bothers me is the small one right behind its head--I would take that away if you are ok with that.

Yea, that branch is a real bugger but I usually just go with the flow - nature wise. Thanks Bonnie!

Very good bird, and nice light. Agree about the branches, but more importantly the bird is looking away.
Could you crop more tightly to get rid of the distracting branches?

Nice image Danny. Good and sharp, good exposure, eye contact, and HA. Seeing more and more of this species here in Missouri. TFS.

Hey Danny, lovely light, and I can feel those warm tones from the early morning. Good sharp detail on the head and eye. Unfortunately, we cant choose where they perch, but hey, makes the next time more exciting.

Hi Danny. fabulous light on this and love the way it catches the eye. Thanks for info on the blind too.

Hey Danny. I like this one -- it's different and I like habitat shots. Plus I don't think we need to have the same head angle and pose in every shot. I think sometimes we put a bit too much emphasis on that. And what fun would that be?!??

Thanks everybody! I'll post a photo of the three chicks sometime.
