This is the White Vulture, also called the Egyptian Vulture or the Pharaoh's Chicken! Found throughout India, it is the smallest vulture we have (64 cm). It looks very pretty in flight, but a little scruffy when perched. While upto 97% of our larger vultures have disappeared in the last decade, the white vulture has held on, scavenging on carrion and refuse from near human habitation.
Species: White vulture (Neophron percnopterus)
Location: Bharatpur, Rajasthan, India
Date: Nov, 2008
Equip: Canon 1D Mlll, Canon 500 f4 with 1.4 TC
Specs: ISO 250, f 7.1, 1/1000s, Gitzo tripod and Wimberley head

Thank you for taking the time out to look, and for your comments/critiques

Nice landing pose, sharpness and wing position. Maybe a bit more contrast and a tad more room at the bottom?
