This a ground dwelling bird common in open country throughout Australia.
Canon 50D, 400f/5.6L, 1/1250s, f/7.1, ISO 400, Av mode, EC +1/3, tripod, audio, Kwik Camo blind
full frame, NeatImage noise reduction, lighter patch of background in URC masked out, rocky base slightly darkened

Nice photo of a flighty bird. Always have trouble getting close enough to these guys, however when you're in the car they won't move out of the way. You handled the harsh light well.

I like the low perspective, clean background and interesting perch. Sharp too.

Another vote for the low perspective! Awesome BG and pose. Maybe just cropping a bit off the top, right and slightly off the left - to move the head off centre.

Yep, the low perspective works well Leo. Good HA, and you have captured good feather detail. I would maybe sharpen the head a little more, and I see a slight magenta cast. Have you installed the new firmware. It solves the cast.
