Made this image in Kutch, Gujarat.
Scrubland birds which prefers running to flying when approached.
Specs: 50D with 500 + 1.4x TC at 100 ISO. Shutter: 1/400 Aperture: 5.6
Hate the OOF branch in the background :(

Rahul...liked the head turn, pose and the catchlight. The low angle of sun is also nice.

Do you have more room in the orig? I might try (a) a little CW rotation (b) cropping so that bird is not centered..more room in front than back...a little crop from above. (c) one round of USM on the bird only.

In the field, if you could have moved a step to the right and avoided the shadow, it would have been better.

heavenly light on a very beautiful bird...not easy to get them so clean...
personally i liked the shadow...would love to see a little more space in front of the bird though.. also if possible clone out the golden OOF grass blade(??) curving into his back...

-Cheers,
Rohan

Really love the low angle and detail. The oof twig is a slight distraction. Not enough to hurt this fine image.

Pretty looking bird in very nice light. I like the pose and the colours. Good idea about the cw rotation and a bit more room in front. Nice and sharp, well done. Dave
