Hi Michael, I like how you divided your comp and created an interesting view. Looks like you had good light but the image appeared a bit flat. Used S/H and was able to lighten the bottom a bit and add more depth to the mountains and clouds. I also added a bit more saturation to the mountains to bring out the color. This could probably be carried further but you see where I'm going with it.

lovely scene and Dave has done some good work on the repost. I would add some local contrast enhancement...

Beautiful capture. The shadowy foreground and hazy background nicely set off the red rocks that are in direct sunlight. I think I would make the background a bit
hazier (except for the white clouds at left) and bring out the sunlit areas a little more.

Animated gif ...

Hey Michael,
Pretty good detail for f5.6! I like the colors on the rocks in Dave's repost but like the sky in David's. As always...cool animated gif's David! Playing around a bit in PP'ing will bring this to it's full potential as the comp is very good!

This is a beautiful image Michael. I have been to Sedona but don't recall seeing this vista. My loss. Overall I am pleased with the composition. The center of intersect sits well with the forest FG and mountain BG. Atmospheric affects add depth.

I do have some recommendations on the processing below and the repost. Looking forward to more of your images.

Reverse S-Curve to lower contrast and open up shadows.

Shadow/Highlights to open up shadows (Settings 21/25/30) and reduce highlights (35/25/30) with the midetone contrast set at +15.

I want to accentuate the rock face some more (also reduces haze a tad) using Local Contrast Enhancement using USM on a BG copy at 10/50/0.

All of the above tweaks discussed in my tutorial at http://www.birdphotographers.net/forums/showthread.php?t=20434.
