American Kestrel and Red-tailed Hawk
SoCal.

I liked this image as it really shows the difference in size between the two species.
These little Falcons are very territorial and dodge back and forth trying to aggravate the Hawks.;)

Thanks For Looking

You captured the typical action well and my first reaction was to smile at the size
difference.
Was this a large crop ?

Was this a large crop ?

Thanks! Its not a real large crop as this happened low and close to me also I took
some off the bottom for Pano. presentation.:)

James, I like the two of them in the same frame-it really does shoe the size difference well. You did a great job getting them both in focus.

Very interesting shot James. How far was the Kestrel behind the hawk, did this increase the perception of size?
Great to get both sharp. Nice feather detail and colour on both birds and I like the presentation.

Thanks For the comments everybody.:)

Hi Dave,

With the limited depth of field with the 600mm and from taking the shot I would say the perspective is probably pretty close to accurate in this photo the Kestrel was in the focal range of the Hawk(almost perfectly in line with the Hawks front wing);)
