Hi Hendri: What a beautiful face on this little cheetah with its big, red eyes. The coat color is also is gorgeous in this light. Some good detail in the photo as well. Also, nice handling of this shot with almost white light behind the animal. This is an easy image to look at.

Now that is a nice Cheetah cub, showing all of it's beauty!

Just one quibble it looks to me just a little oversharpened?

I agree it looks slightly oversharpened on this site...

I was saying to Morkel the other day, a cheetah is the only cat I havent got in my files yet, and you come along and post a cub. I like the intencity of the stare, and just love those honey eyes. Great sighting, and well captured mate. Good to see you posting here again.

All sharpening nits aside, a superb habitat portrait of this beautiful Cheetah cub.
Have just recently returned from 23 days in Botswana and all I saw was a fleeting glimpse of
the back of a mother Cheetah and her 6 cubs in the Kalahari.
So I'm very envious!

Hendri .. super image... the eye s really make this image come alive... neutral BKG a bonus in this instance

I know how difficult it is to get close to predators in KTP.. so a big well done...

Cheetah cubs are so adorable, and you have done a marvellous job on this one. The intensity in the eyes, the semi-retractile claws out to grip the bark... perfect. Oversharpening has been mentioned, so I won't repeat that. But, what are those blue-gray patches at the top of the frame?

Thanks for the great response everyone. I normally sharpen after resize and looks like I overdone it here.

Marc I cant believe you had such bad luck on a 23 day trip. There is always a next time though.

Ajit I'll have to look but I think its cloning marks from some OOF leaves. Will fix it.

Hendri,

Repost is much improved, I can now award 11/10!
I find preparing images for web a bit of a pain, but am getting more used to it.
