Thanks Stuart. Not a family per se, but these females were currently under his control. They were part of a group of 20-30 cows and young that he was herding and defending from other bulls. And should you ever come for a visit, I think you've established enough contacts here on BPN to get some inside information on locations regardless of where you go :)

Thanks Marc. This was one of the busiest bulls I've ever watched. He had a rather large group to tend to and he was nowhere near the biggest bull in the meadow, but I witnessed him chasing off three bigger bulls. As far as managing their attention, he sure got them back to the group quickly when they strayed. Fun to watch.

Hi Steve: A great portrayal of female ambivalence! I see the same thing with turkeys in Missouri in the spring. This shot isn't "quite" as beautiful as I'm used to from you but you have set the standard awfully high with previous images. Also, I love the story it tells. The colors through out the frame work well. I think the tree trunks add interest. Would probably try a crop just above the little scrubby bush lower right.
