We are planning to have a GTG on Sunday Feb the 7th,2010, thinking of Wakodahatchee Wetlands (Palm Beach County).
We were planning Green Cay for there's not much there at the time. so we just cahnged to Wako.
We could meet at sunrise and have lunch at nearby Applebee's (Jog Rd. off Atlantic Ave)
Nicky G Jones will be with us from the UK :)

Who else is game?????

Judd Patterson

It's been quite a while since we've had a GTG, so I think there will be lots of interest! I look forward to seeing a bunch of smiling photographers bright and early on the Sunday, February 7th. Sunrise will be at 7:02AM, and I predict sunny skies with a low temperature of 58 rising to a beautiful afternoon high of 79. :)

What's the difference?
99.9% of walkers don't have a week job :)

Gloria Hopkins
01-26-2010, 07:03 PM
Huge difference Fabs. Been going there for 10 years and it's getting worse every year. I don't have a single shot of a good pair of breeding GBH. Last week I had a nesting-display pair with an UNbelievable red-Cypress background and a man with a walker came POUNDING past me. That's was it for me. NO MORE. They can have it.......

Ok, I have a bit of a temper. But I HAVE been waiting 10 YEARS for that shot. Anyone would be PO'd.....

Harold Davis
01-26-2010, 07:09 PM
come on, gloria!! it's as much about the fun and fellowship as it is about getting "the shot"!!! :D

I feel your pain.
I was there last Saturday and got 16 gigs of the pair with the red BG, they were even kissing a few times

01-26-2010, 08:19 PM
Okay, i'm confused, did we change it to "WACO" from Green Cay?
No problems; i'll be there, we'll just take over, and there will be no room for the "Pounders"!!!
Don

Fabs Forns
01-26-2010, 08:35 PM
Reason for the change is we were at Green Cay Saturday and there was nothing but 1 Limpking and many Coots and Moorhens. Although we recognize the value of meeting and enjoying each other company, it would be nice if we have subjects :p:)

Don Hamilton Jr.
01-26-2010, 08:58 PM
Fabs, certainly understand the "Change" ! We'd all be bummed with no images, so we'll make the best out of it. Looking forward to it!! Maybe, i'll capture an awesome GBH, with the Red BG!!! :) :)

Milt Berko
01-26-2010, 09:05 PM
There should be no problems at Wako at dawn. It gets busier later in the day when we will be long gone.

I trust Fabs and Alfred that Green Cay was quiet, but I did notice that Paul recently posted on Tropical Audubon that Green Cay was busy with Black-bellied Whistling Ducks, Purple Gallinule, Northern Harrier, and Purple Martin. :) It's amazing how a place can change day to day! I still plan to be at Wako on the 7th. See you folks there!

Judd, we were there the same day Paul was. But don't forget that Paul is a birder. BBWDs were three miles away, the Harrier flew the wrong way for 3 seconds and I missed the PM. We didsee B&W warbler but after 15 minutes of trying, not even a record photograph.

Hi Fabs & Alfred,

Haven't been here in a little while and saw this. Hope you're all doing well. That's a bit of a run for me (from Merritt Island) especially with a launch that morning and being superbowl Sunday. I'd like to meet up sometime and catch up on things. Looks like I'll be having more time for photograhy since the Shuttle is retiring at the end of this year. Miss you guys. :)

Kind Regards,
Rod

I'm looking forward to it. Wondering if I should take my camera or just socialize. Maybe our numbers and tripods will scare away the walkers.
