ISO 400

approx. 20 minutes after sunrise.

I added canvas to the bottom. I didn't clip the feet but I had to add room at the bottom-Does it look ok? If not where and why -please Thankyou I appreciate the feedback.:)

Hi Denise, there's two ways of looking at the bottom of the image.

a) leave your added canvas as is - it gives a DOF effect.

b) clone in the sand over the area you added, as I have done. Make sure you dont copy or repeat areas. In hindsight, I should have maybe added a tad more to the bottom. Apologies went over your signature.

I like the soft light, and overall, pretty sharp detail. Love the pastel colours of the BG too.

Love your shots Denise. My first thought was to blend a slither at about 50% opacity so as not to make the oof so defined... (sounds sort of contradictory that does, :D), but hope you know what I mean. Fabulous shot either way.

We got luckier with feet here :)
I like Stu's version repeating the sand pattern rather than the OOF sand.
You could try and warm up the temp a bit?

Thanks guys and Fabs for the suggestions. I tried to incorporate all of your suggestions. I added a tiny bit of canvas and cloned in more sand-I also tried to blend the area as suggested by David. I also warmed it up a bit.

Also this ground level type shot is great .

Very nice and healthy looking shorebird Denise.

Your repost looks better to me but I still prefer Stuart's foreground.
BG is great.

I really enjoy your posts Denise. The colours in this photo are fantastic and although at first my eyes were not immediately drawn to the foreground I do find it distracting now I notice it and I like what Stuart did with cloning the sand. These little guys are very photogenic and this photo makes me eager to improve my own technique and abilities.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

The repost is just right. I love the look on the bird and the foot position,
as if the bird is sneaking up on you. Very nice image...
