Elephants favourate

A mud bath to get him through the rest of the day. We watched a couple of elephants splash and roll around in this mud pool. Taken in Sabi Sabi, a private game reserve. This was actually taken from the balcony of the lodge we were staying in.

I like the elephant action but on my monitor it doesn't look quite sharp and there is a large light area between the eye and trunk tip which I find disconcerting. Understand the limitations you were working under though. Elephants are much harder to capture than many non-photographers imagine, so well done despite the harsh light.

Hilary, thanks a stack for your feedback. I do agree the light was getting harsh, and Im the first to admit that ellies arent always easy to expose.

Stuart, Nice action capture. Agree on harsh light difficulties especially with wet ellies- have several rolls of somewhat underexposed wet Savute ellies in my archives. I would attempt to get a tad more detail in the dark areas of the ellie out of PS- not sure if it is do-able, though. Alltogther a nice image.
