Last fall I caught this bull elk crossing the Madison River early on a foggy morning.
Canon 20D, EF100-400mm @ 285mm, ISO200, 1/200 @ F5.6

Love the mood !!! Fog just adds the perfect touch I like how you got some separation form the head and the bak and love the placement !!!! Big Congrats !!!

I like the overall soft feel of this photo (from the fog and the ever so slight blurring of the bank grasses.) I also like the white tipped antlers poking above the fog and the way the curving bank seems to lead the eye out of the frame.

I like the fog and the kind of eerie mood. A small crop from the top may create a nice pano as well.

I second everything that Alfred pointed out. Also the seperation in all the points on the antlers is another big plus. I love Yellowstone in the fall, and the mornings are a special time. I also found the "Big Horns" very productive in early morning. Living in Cody is it a hot spot for you!

Great environmental image here Robert. I get the feeling of sharing an intimate and private moment in time with Mother Nature.
