Went to Bunchee Beach in Fort Myers yesterday afternoon and finally got a chance to test out the 7d with fast shorebirds and BIF. I was impressed as most the shots were in sharp focus even with varied backgrounds.
I managed to track this Plover (I assume it's a piping plover) too ...
shot at low tide from the tidal pool mud flats....

Looks nice and sharp. I might crop in a bit tighter to reduce the lines on the beach. A slightly lower angle if possible may have reduced these too.

Yes, looks like a piping plover and good to hear that you like the 7D. Angle and eye contact look good. The light looks a bit harsh and I would sharpen the bird a bit more.

I was there a week before, and I believe I shot this same individual! It's possible with this species. Agree on a tad more cropping/sharpening. Were the marbled godwit(s) still there?

I didn't see the godwits, but a friend of mine did get get them a few days earlier.
