I thought this old dried up cactus would make a perfect perch for this species and managed to get him on there in sweet evening light.
The Bg hill full of cactus lit up nicely for this set-up.

Hi Alan,
To be honest I wisited your website many times and this is one of my favorite images from you. This is a stunning image with the harmony between the bird and perch, the great pose, BG and pretty much everything. Simply beautiful.

Superb, Alan. Love the way the patterns on the bird match the perch. Looking forward to your CD.

Love the killer pose and the slightly raised wing. And of course the cactus itself and the killer BKGR. Click here to get yourself a copy of Alan's new CD (will be shipped about mid-DEC or earlier): https://store.birdsasart.com/shop/item.aspx?itemid=275
