I was going down in this valley with my whitetail gear and shot this with my new compact canon S90 as wanted something small to take photos like this when I do not have my landscape gear. I did see buster buck but too dark to get a photo.

Hi Dennis, Beautiful color taken on a day with even lighting. Good that you included a foreground but I might have tried to find something with a bit more interest. The backround has some interest and doesn't interfere greatly with the dominant subjects. Debating whether I would crop it down to a bit above the tree line.

That was it Dave, the weeds were the only anchor I had

Hey Curly,
I'll go out on a limb here:D....and say those are some uuuugglyyy weeds. It looks like you had some fog or mist in the distance.....I may have gone for a bit more of that and some less FG. Yes,....sometimes the not so beautiful needs to be represented......but in this case the weed whacker or crop tool (right above the dark weeds) is the only solution.

a crop just over the weeds does it for me. love the fall colors. you did well capturing them here!!

The sky looked worst than the weeds, that is one ugly sky. Heck I thought I did pretty good with a deer blind and tripod with a 600mm lens over my shoulder. Next time it is whack the weeds or get a deer to pose. I be back in a couple weeks.

Hi Dennis, I think the crop helps strengthen the image.

Yes, the crop intensifies the image greatly. And then do just a slight clone work to remove that rectangle of cloud?? in the upper left area. Great colors!

I agree, the crop is much better and the line of trees (to me the most interesting element of the image) is maintained.
