Perfect late afternoon in July of 2008 with a nice N ~ NW breeze which was bringing the terns back into their dune nesting areas with excellent position relative to the late light.

Nikon D2Xs, 500VR, f7.1, ISO 320, I/1500, CW metering, +1.0 EV

Spectacular pose and light, great capture Jim! I might move the bird a bit more left in the frame.

Fantastic pose and orientation. Loved (a) the tail spread (b) the catchlight (c) the little-but-sufficient details in the black head. You captured the perfect head-angle too. Big congrats.

Great light, pose and good sharpness. What I like best is the fanned tail.

Sky color looks a bit odd to me, maybe a greenish cast?

Hmmmm..

I don't see anything greenish in the sky on my end...perhaps others will chime in?

Could easily be my eyes or monitor but sky didn't look quite natural to me.
Here's an attempt at a repost. See if it looks any better (or worse :)) to you.
I did a Color Balance adjustment for midtones and set the Yellow/Blue slider to +10
(added Blue) and the Magenta/Green slider to -10 (added Magenta).

Did look a bit green on my monitor too. I like the repost. Fantastic details and wing position.

Weird....

My original looks better on my monitor whether I look at it in IE8 or Firefox although the difference between the 2 is incredibly subtle.

Beautiful shot Jim! Love the fanned tail! Interesting that the primary tips look different from one wing to the other?

I think it's just the lighting Dan....they are as they were on the bird in real life.

I guess Mike was seeing the yellowish cast that light was given to the image, that's because of the time of the day as you stated. But to me that was 100% normal. Mike's repost makes this one looks even better on my monitor.
By the way, did I mentioned that I love the light, bird, pose, and eye contact in this image?
