Beautiful colors and pose. Great exposure too. I'm yet to get one perched!
You may be in his eye?

Sweet! I never got to see one of these when I was in AZ :( though they were around. Maybe a crop from the top?

Hi, Adams! Great work getting this bunting perched and with a clean background! I think placing him much higher in the frame would add nicely to this image.

I wish someday to even see one this open.

I would maybe run some noise reduction on the bg the upper part seams a little noisy but i still wish it was mine

I agree on placing the bird higher in the frame and to run NR on the BG.

STunning image. You got the image I wanted (got my first painted buntings in FL last week but arrrrrgh...the bg's were horrible!)

Hi Adams, A nice diagonal perch supporting this beautiful Bunting! Agree the composition would be improved with the subject a little higher in the frame filling in some of that negative space. I generally like to see some tonal variation in the BG but that's just a personal taste. Well done!

Superb exposure, sharpness and comp. I don't agree the bird needs to be higher because the staub off the perch limb on bottom adds a bit of solid foundation, a good base to anchor the bird and composition. Thin sticks that seem to arise out of the ether don't do that. I would just crop off some of the top, not quite square though. As is, however, it's got plenty of room for something like Birder's World across the top! Or bring in a sharp-shinned hawk, talons just opening for the grab. Okay, maybe not...
