Colorful Flow

Shot this at the Black River this weekend. These type of shots are interesting since your never sure what your going to get. The reflections were subtle to my eye and didn't stand out on the rock until I saw the image.

Really gorgeous and what fun to never be sure what you will find in your image. Love the contrasting colors in this capture and the obvious flow of the water swirling around the rock. Beautiful lighting too which all adds up to a very stunning image.

For me, the gold tones really grab my attention in this image. I know that you have diminishing returns when cropping such an image and for me saying you should not clip this or that so add more room may introduce other unwanted edge distractions. That said, I would have preferred not clipping the top of the white flows at the top edge of the image - three places along the top this occurs.

Shutter speed perfect for me here. Nice work.

Hi Robert, I see your point about clipping.I'll look at my original and see if there is room on top. I have other examples of this type which I'll post at a future date.

Beautiful golden flow around the rock. If this were mine, I'd tone down the reflection on the rock.

Very good advice given above......I tried a crop....but didn't like it......maybe patching/cloning the 2 top brightest areas to minimize them????.....not sure. Sweet color and love the flow lines.

Beautifully captured, Dave. Strong composition, great colors and I really like the water lines rushing past the rock. Also the copper colored reflection to the lower right of the rock is a subtle foil to the main subject.
