Welcome to BPN Suresh! Very nice image here, and with a few minor tweaks it will shine even more. You should eliminate the small OOF twig below the foot, ditto with the reddish area in the BG just at the tip of the bill. There is also a bluish cast to the plumage...desaturating the blue channel will effectively fix that.

I like the comp - vertical is almost always the way to go with woodpeckers. Nice texture to the trunk. Good pose too, with the head turned enough to make the from-behind view work.

Suresh:

A big welcome to BPN. Daniel hit the important points about this nice image. Generally with look back poses, the head parallel to the image sensor seems to work the best.

Cheers

Hope to see more.

Great pose Suresh. Head looks a little oversharpened or like their was a major shadow/highlight shift?
