Taken at Longwood Gardens awhile ago

I posted a cropped version of this earlier but have messed around w/ the colors a bit and darkened the BG. I also flipped it horizontally and rotated it.

Excellent image, Denise! Love the placement of the stamen and the close crop (You've been hanging around Roman!) Love the deep intensity of this and the way the BG matches that intensity.

Wonderful image, Denise! Love the colors and sharpness of the flower. Great idea darkening the BG, in fact, I would suggest taking it a bit further and make the BG entirely black. Well done!

Hey Denise, nice subject and comp. Like the warm color and good details. This has a nice painted look.

Agree with the good points above. Like the colors, the crop and the sharpness. I am not sure about the hard shadows though. As for the background, personally, I would darken the background at the top. Just thought it would balance the darker background at the bottom half of the photo better. It's just me, I know :)

The curls of the petal edges are marvelous! They are what I first noticed and the draw me right in. Great job of capturing detail all through the flower.

I generally like symmetrical and centered flower photos, but this one needs something, I'm not sure what.

I just read that you photographed this at Longwood Gardens, which explains why it looked familiar to me.
