That kayak gives you an incredible low angle Glen. Do you take any precautions to prevent the kayak from rolling? Do you use any camera support?

Hey Doug,

Ocean Kayaks are remarkably stable....I have absolutely no fear of rolling (nor would you if you came out with me)...

Handholding is really the only option out there. I try to keep the SS up high and brace my arms against my chest...

Its all about light angle...I know I didnt add much saturation to this one...so i guess the answer is....yes :)

Lovely, Glenn.
I just started using a kayak a bit. Great fun--and a very useful tool for photography.
I am really enjoying it!

Very nice capture, if tight at the tail end. Great detail and very sharp, especially from a kayak!

Beautiful image Glen. The water color is awesome....so is the perfect head angle. Composition wise, I'd prefer a little more room at top and a little less below.

Glen, this one really pops and that blue is just exquisite. Love the ripples and nice and sharp. I'd like a tad more room top and in front for my taste. Congrats.

Thanks for sharing Glen. I saw the Murres way out in the ocean and never really got a good look. The colors are fantastic and the low angle works well for this image. The HA is great and the bubbles / ripples add character.

I too would prefer less water on the bottom. Otherwise a perfect shot.

I would be weary of venturing out in a kayak with such a heavy piece of glass :)
lovely angle, exposure and light you got.

Killer shot Glenn, love the feather detail, water, angle and pose. How far out do you typically kayak?

Do you keep your camera in a dry sack, and where do you store it when you are paddling, at your feet?

I also had some questions of my own, but I see that most of them have been answered already. Love how the bird is swimming in what to me looks like blue gelatin.
Great light and. pose. Ditto a bit tight on the tail.
