Took this a while back and thought to reprocess. Early morning, late autumn shot and you usually find me lurking around in full camo gear. Not entirely nec', but useful in gaining a few yards without startling them. This one wasn't sure at all of what to make of me.. even the eyes have a "mad look". :). Comp wise, whilst i understand the natural choice being the portrait shot, and there's room for that, i wanted the space "type of shot". Appreciate the oof fg foliage a bit heavy. 5D & 500 IS F4. 1/250, 5.6 Monopod. ISO 400. Cropped to suit.

Hey Dave, you have outdone yourself here. I just love the inquisitive look, together with the slightly open mouth. I feel you have placed the deer perfectly in the frame, and that BG is simply outstanding. DOF and colours, both work so well. Congrats on an amazing image. One of the best Ive seen lately.

What an expression! Are you sure that's not one of your mates out there with a head mount? Great colors in those layers, light and detail are good as well. Nice image to view.

Real killer, David. The look is priceless and I like the way this buck is framed by the soft grasses and BG forest. Well done indeed.

Love this one David. Great timing and the surprised expression and beautiful composition puts this over the top for me. The colors in this capture are stunning.
