Hi Ginny Good pose captured !!! I like the the head as presented with all wing behind or totally clear !!! Might be able to run one more sharpening pass over the eye.

Depending on application might give more room around the bird, for a postcard this looks just fine. btw I usually don't worry much about stopping down and go for shutter speed, as you can see even at 1/1600 there is motion on the wing tips !!!

Hi Ginny - looks like the original must have been a little soft - there are some significant sharpening halo's present, really noticeable around the rear leg area - its the white patch that surounds the leg. You had plenty of shutter speed so that should not be the cause - has to be technique in handholding the camera.

Like the pose.

Neat colors and great looking BG but as mentioned by Al and Lance, picture is a tad soft, could be the panning technique used. I shot BIF wide open with this lens - 5.6 all the way!!

Love the eye contact and an interesting wing position, beautiful background too. Seem like light is coming from the side, it's better to have sun behind you.
