Pelicans at sunset

It was an overcast day, the sun came out for a brief 10-15 minutes before setting.

The image is a 50% crop of the original, they were ~100 yards away. The cropping ability of the 7D has me drooling. Good thing about this camera is it has motivated me to shoot some birds :-).

In PP, extended the canvas just a bit on the right (am pretty bad at that).

Techs: EOS 7D, 400 f/5.6 at 5.6, Ai-Servo, AF-Expansion, 1/1000, ISO 400.

Beautiful golden tones on the pelicans, HA is nice. I prefer the other pelican was either completely in focus or more blurred to emphasize on the closer one, It also looks a bit oversharpened (some halos) on my screen.

Thank you all for taking the time to leave your feedback, appreciate all the input.

Sharpness being a very subjective thing, I think the birds are wet...so that might be contributing to the fact that it appears over sharpened. Arash is right though, there's a slight halo on the left side of the beak of the main bird.

lovely image in great light - I can imagine the cropping ability is the bomb...as it must be with any camera that is above 15mp
