I like the fact that the light is less than ideal in these samples.

A better way to check noise or, if that's the case, the lack of it, IMO.

The sensor size has gone from 5.94 to 8.45 um.
No wonder the noise is way down:

Really smart move by Nikon, I love the low light images.

Really smart move by Nikon, I love the low light images.

Comparing D3s to D3 would make more sense wrt to pixel size and noise. D3(s) and D3x are different tools for different jobs IMO.

Yes, you are right. The pixel size seems same as in D3.

Not enough reason to get me to upgrade from my D3 Im afraid.

dont really want video and the rest is just minor upgrades IMHO - Will wait for the next Gen IE: D4 series.
Personally dont know if we will see a D700X.

Lots of banding in the 102400 - but still pretty amazing :)

Yeah, Nikon didn't lie it is really better than D3/D700, hard to believe, the 12,800 shots are now very usable!
