I was looking at my posts the other day, and thought, ok, a while to go before the next milestone, and before I knew it - here it is. Once again, thanks to all you guys and girls that have helped me on my way.

This is a redbilled Hornbill taken in the Kruger National Park. This was at one of the picnic spots where one can get out and walk around. These Hornbills normally hang around for the scraps of food. I cant remember what the BG was, but it is as natural as shot. It could have been sand.

Congratulations on the milestone! I like the head angle, sharpness, wind-blown plumage and BG. I might tone down the whites some more. Interesting to see the shadows of the eyelashes in the iris.

Congrats on your 4000th post Stuart! I've enjoyed watching your growth as a photographer during your time here on BPN. I noticed the same thing Axel did; the shadow of the eyelashes on the iris. Very cool!

Why a subject with such a "frown" for your 4oooth?:) But I do think it's a great shot. The wind-blown feathers on the shoulder add interest to the composition. Congratulations!

Stuart:

Congrats on 4000. You have been busy.

Nice hornbill, techs mentioned. The whites look good on my monitor.

Cheers!

Congrats, Stuart. I appreciate your contribution to BPN and really enjoy your images. The wind blown epaulet caught my eye too.

Congrats Stuart!
This is definitively a ''wall hanger''!!! Great looking species and killer BG. I also noted the shadows on the eye before reading Axel's post. The whites looks fine on my end.

Stuart,

These and the Starlings are quite photogenic at the picnic spots. The BG will most definately be sand.

Thanks a lot Rob. As I said, it was probably sand.
