Worked on another Snowy to take me back to a place that doesn't suffer from the never ending heat as we have been going through. I guess I just like the cold.

As posted it seems to suffer from more funky things then usual when downsizing. It doesn't have the blueish cast until I take it below 200K .

This is stunning. Amazing capture, love the pose, action and eye contact.
One of my favorite bird the snow owl, maybe I'll be lucky enough someday to photograph them

I was going to comment on the cast, but you've noticed it too. Don't know why it would only do that when below 200k...

I love the slanted angle and look of concentration as it approaches its surely close-by prey. Very cool.

Love how the eyes stand out against the whites and blacks. Beautiful wing spread and sharpness. Wouldn't change a thing.

Great stuff this, loved the contrasting whites here and the pose put it on the top, also loved the bird slightly touching the snow and the shadow that adds so well here, congrats..

Looks pretty good on my monitor! Love the low angle, the intense stare, and the great wing position and detail.

Hi Mike, what strikes me in this image is the black rimmed wings - it makes the full wingspread stand out so well against the snow. Excellent exposure throughout, and I cant see a cast at all. Great image.

You have a great capture here. Love the pose with the outstretched wings. My work monitor showed the blue cast but I don't see it on my home monitor. I also like the crop you've chosen here.
