Canon EOS-1D Mark II N, Shooting Date/Time 1/27/2008, mid-morning, Sun behind me and to the left, Tv(Shutter Speed) 1/3200Sec. Av(Aperture Value) F8.0, Evaluative metering, Exposure Compensation -2/3, ISO 400, Lens EF300mm f/2.8L IS USM +2.0x, Focal Length 600.0 mm, from tripod while kneeling in the wet stuff.

Cropped for a 9x12. Since this is my firsrt attempt, it was a real blast. From Fort DeSoto, where else. More snow on the way for tonight. Will it never end?

Grady I like the pose and composition of this image but the light seems harsh, at least on my office monitor. I couldbe wrong but this also looks like a Greater Yellowlegs based on the size of the bill.

Very nice action in this image with good detail and exposure. The lighting does appeear to be a little harsh but you did well to get this and to get such a great low angle too. Thanks for sharing Grady.

Hi Grady,

I like the raised foot pose and low angle. You handled the harsh light well, but the image apears slightly soft to me. Perhaps a bit more USM.

I agree with everything mentioned and would also run some NR on the BG....
