Hi Ed, There seems to be some fog or clouds in the upper RHQ that pull my eye. Personally I don't like when the reflection is directly in the middle. I think applying the ROT would strengthen the image and expose more of the fog. Nice reflection.

Hey Ed,
Nick makes some very good points......biggest problem for me on this one is that all the colors....while nice are the same and there is no focal point to rest the eye on.....1 different colored tree placed on a ROT line....may have been one solution while another may have been to include a FG element to break up the mirror image. Exposure was handled nicely.

Hi Ed... looks like some sweet colors and a nice reflection you've captured here. I had the same thought as Roman about a point of interest... maybe a foreground element, etc would be nice to add variety to the symmetry of this image. Hope to see more.

Appreciate the feedback folks. I wasn't too sure about this one myself. The reason I cropped from the top as I did was because the fog was still so thick up there even as it was lifting.

The image is what it is but here is another crop with the fog left in. Obviously there is no detail up there. If it was all like that UR corner, I would have been happier. But I did more the shoreline down into a ROT position.

And for comparison, this is the same beach but different perspective. Would appreciate any further thoughts/feedback.

Hey Ed,
Good move removing the fog in the original......didn't add much and you could go tighter with the crop on the OP......possibly as low as the RH tree top? I do like the last post best....the fog adds to the mood there and gives more interest.....might look into eeking out some more detail in the sky.

Rule of thirds down not generally apply to reflections. As you see, ROT cut the top of the reflection. I agree on needing an anchor for the eye to grab. I prefer the original with an inch off the top.

Ed,

I suggest this crop. I also did a reverse s-curve to lower contrast and then selective color and added 3% black to the black, neutral and white channels.
