I am one who is very happy with the 7D. I have not had major OOF issues. nevertheless I decided to try the microadjustment feature and found the following. I thought you all might be interested.
17-40 Zero
24-105 -6
300 f4 +10
500 f4 -1
500 F4 + 1.4 TC Zero
After this adjustment I made several images and checked for accuracy. They are spot on. I made several sequences on Servo with a static subject at full frame rate to see if there was AF drift - especially with the 300 and 500. It was spot on each time.
I encourage everyone to utilize this useful feature. BTW, I used the giff test pattern available for download from
