Seeing George's and Maxis' images of a Reddish Egret at Ft. Desoto made me dig through some older files. This image was made at Ft. Desoto, North Beach. I was out at Desoto almost every weekend for 3 months last year. I could rely on this bird. I haven't seen a White Morph Reddish at Desoto in close to one (1) year.

Tech Stuff
Camera: Nikon D200
Lens: VR 80-400 @ 400mm
Manual Exposure, 1/1000th @ f/6.3
ISO 400, Hand held

Wow! This looks like an amazing painting to me ... the curves and arches are wonderful, and goes well with the light pastel blues.

Wow Blake, I just love the stance you have caught this egret in - the arched wings forming a canopy over head adds so much impact to the composition. This high-key image is just stunning!!

Silky smooth. Very nice. I like how the closer wing is higher (maybe just from your angle). Great photo!

Hey, Mike! Just a hazy morning with some thin cloud cover. I was happy to get some soft light that morning.
