During the Post-Christmas, John Moran spotted this image and pointed it out to me. Thanks, John!

Fabs this is so different and unconventional I like it.

The hotspots look like OOF christmas lights.

I really like the uniqueness of this image, Fabs, but some aspects are bothering me. There seems to be too much brightness in the BG and the egret looks a bit cool from the flash. I had a bit of a play with a crop, CC and lifting the curve a bit. Feel like an amateur offers advice to you but I'm here to learn so would appreciate your comments

Hey Tony, I like your crop too, except it's a bit tight at the bottom for the feet. I like your whites :)

Thanks for the suggestions, we all have eyes and taste, so everyone qualifies to critique!

Thanks, Fabs. Thought of room for the feet but didn't like the bare stalks.

Hi Fabs, Certainly different!! The BG high-lights compete for my attention by-passing the main subject. I like the tighter crop reducing the competition and the whiter egret now attracts attention.

Thanks John. Actually my subject here were the specular highlights. The Snowy just happen to be there LOL
