I shot this with the new Tamron 60mm 2.0 macro lens. I was really suprised how well this lens blurred the BGs on my first images. From experience in my workshops, people using the short focal length macros in the 50mm range have a hard time blurring BGs. It's noted as the fastest shooting macro lens.

Excellent comp and sharpness, Mike. Love the look of the natural light on the bumblebee. I'm impressed that you were able to get this image using a tripod at 1/8 second - conditions must have been perfect. Well done.

Very nice photo Mike. Love the look of the bee. So sharp and yet so soft. Bee is also very square to the sensor. Really nice. Dave

I would have thought for sure that this was taken with your 180mm! Lovely image and you're right - it did an excellent job of blurring the BG.

That new lens is certainly working for you Mike! Lovely shot with great colours, sharpness, comp, bg and love the hairiness of the bee.

I appreciate the shot.

I've been giving thought to that lens which just came out recently. I like the idea of the extra f stop. I'm a fan of the Tamron macro's. Now, if I can only learn how to use them!!
