This image was made in Oceanside, Ca. a couple of weeks ago. We were fortunate to find this rare visitor to our area, where it was running from the jetty rocks to the edge of the surfline to feed.

I'm green with envy. I've been looking for these guys all over lately, but haven't even seen one. Great light, BG, and exposure. Wish for a bit less of a head turn, but still great.

I like the setting, fluffed-up pose and light. I agree on the head angle and maybe a bit more contrast?

Thanks you guys. I guess I have a bit of an advantage knowing he was looking at a Willet he had been getting chased by, so the HA as a little different meaning to me. Axel, I don't know if this true, but the feather sructure on this bird just seemed a bit different and when I addded a bit more contrast it just did'nt look quite right, so I left it at that point. This is as close to what I saw I think. Thanks again.
