I'm running a small contest on my website and I wanted to open it up to everyone here on the forum. (Moderators please relocate this thread as you see fit) Objective is to identify the animal. No one has gotten it right so far and guesses have ranged from varieties of mammals to insects to marine life. I'll guess a beaver. I'm sure you got alot of fun (and funny) guesses! I think this could be moved to the "Family, Friends, and More" forum.

Thanks for your guesses. It's interesting to see the wide variety of things that people come up with. (Some of the guesses have been things I've never even heard of.) I've refrained from responding to anyone so far because the contest is still open on my site. Once I close it and draw a winner, I'll let you guys know what the image it is.

Congratulations to Daniel C. for correctly guessing beaver (and having his name drawn).

Thanks to all who participated. The guesses spanned across the
animal kingdom (and even beyond in one case). I know this was
incredibly difficult and I give credit to those who correctly guessed
the animal as well as to those who guessed otter (as far as I could
tell, there was no way to differentiate between the two with what I
gave you).

Thought it was an otter, never would have figured out beaver from the reflection. Daniel you must have cheated:)

I had a strong feeling this was a beaver! I photographed a few of them this spring and found remembered some similar reflections in my photos...this is why I just knew that is what it had to be :-) I will admit that when Beth guessed an Otter I thought that she may have had it right.
