Super, Denise. Great light direction, low angle and pose. I like how the water just blends into the BG. I think a slightly tighter crop would also work as I find the blurred reflection a little distracting.

Thanks Tony, I'll crop it a bit tighter.:)

Great one, I like the bird, the relaxed pose, the water is plain great,
nice detail in the whites and shawdows too. My only concern is the
slight halo from sharpening around the bill. Congrats!

Love the low angle and the detail. Not sure if I'd crop it any tighter. Great job with exposure as well.

Thanks guys! I cropped it just a bit and removed the halo-not sure how I missed it:)

The repost looks better but it still appears oversharpened (plumage and around the legs). Angle, setting and eye contact are very nice, I only wish for a bit more head turn towards you and the whites could go a bit darker for my taste.

Denise:

Another nice one. I do prefer the repost slightly, but of course, I am from the Roman school of cropping! :)

I do see some chroma noise in the background. It seems a bit worse in the OP, but is still noticeable.
Doesn't show up much on the laptop, but does on the big NEC.

Thanks for sharing.

Randy

Axel, Edgar and Randy, Thankyou all for taking the time to comment.
Randy, I did notice the noise and tried to address it in the repost. I'll give it another round of NR. Thanks.

Denise this is beautiful it doesn't look one bit oversharpened to me the details are outstanding. And your whites are spot on . I do like the repost a little better. Such a nice low angle of capture and an excellent bg color. Well Done!

Hi Denise - lovely - the low angle and spot on exposure really make this one stand out.

Denise, lovely soft light, with good exposure. I can only agree that the water blending into the BG works well. Overall, a very pleasing image.

Looks great! Very crisp indeed and I don't think oversharpened - better with halo removed.
