This image was made in Cape Town earlier this year. I was very happy to capture this one as it was not on the menu for that days shoot.
I think it is a juvenile. (sub-adult)

Excellent shot, full wing position and eye-contact and nice HA. Looks like you did quite a bit of shadow recovery there, some of the whites look hot as a result, I would tone it down a bit. Also the plumage is a bit dull compared to yellow of the beak, is this the natural color?

TFS.

Super capture Dave! Not easy to get these guys in flight!
Good HA, light and wing position.

Thanks Arash and Mark for looking and for comments.
Arash no shadow recovery was done here. I think that some of the hot spots were as a result of sharpening and setting the white point in curves. I have removed the curves layer and reduced the sharpeing on the lighter areas.
I confirm that the colour difference is much the same on the raw file.
I hope that the repost is an improvement.

Hi Dave,
Here I did some curve and saturation adjustment, BG is a bit blotchy due to JPEG compression but hope you like it.

Dave, Great pose and HA. Under the wing looks a bit muddy. I would tone down the body a bit and I would tone done the sat. in the BG. Great capture!!

Dave, great eye contact, and love the angle of flight.

For everyone out there, Cape Town skies have this natural blue to it, as there is not a lot of smog, thus Dave's colour of the sky is spot on. You gotta see it to believe it.

Dave, like your repost very much. The shadow areas look more natural and as if they are shadow areas. Lovely sharpness and eye contact. Super flight pose.

Nice light, pose, colors and detail, I would suggest to tone it down a bit. Congratulations!

I like the repost by arash. The eye-contact, light and details are very nice. Is this the sub-species minor or the migrant sub-species?

Thanks Doc it is the African sub-species Falco peregrinus minor.
