One of the many yet to be processed images from Nickerson taken this past summer. This OC seemed to be looking back as if to say "why are you looking at me"?

Joe:

Nice control of reds and whites. Like the ruffled pose. Head angle does give you that impression(looking back at you).
Nice DOF

Hi Joe,

I also like the pose and ruffled feathers. I like the eye contact (this bird is certainly keeping an eye on you). I was only wondering if toning down the birds right leg might help as i looks a little bright to me. Thanks for sharing.

Your exposure very good on the blacks and whites and the feather detail outstanding. It also pops very nicely from the BG. Very good image Joe.

Good exposure control Joe, and to get away from the squarish crop, I would maybe take some off the top, and a tad off the bottom.

Joe, Exposure looks good and so do the details, I love the pose w/ the ruffled feathers.Might go for a slice off the bottom.

I like the fluffed-up pose and look-back. The whites and legs could go a bit darker for my taste and I might sharpen the head a bit more.

I like the ruffled look and colours of the bill and eye, Joe. BG is good. Agree on cropping some from below and maybe cleaning up the dark blobs lower right. Not too keen on the red stroke around the outside. You've managed the exposure well with detail in the blacks and whites.

Nice looking pose. good detail and exposure as said. I agree with Denise, as I too would crop a touch of the bottom.
