While driving in Colorado during a November snowstorm, I came upon this buck just off the road. He appeared from nowhere, but was transfixed by a doe and remained motionless long enough to allow the snow to accumulate on his back. He later retreated into the blizzard from where he came.

Between the snow, the silence, and the somewhat mystical nature of his appearance and departure, it was a wonderful experience I won't soon forget.

I love the buck, love the softly out of focus foreground, and the light blue sky. The falling snow is the icing in the cake :)

For a stronger composition, you can take a bit off the right side.

An outstanding deer and a beautiful image. As Fab mentioned a bit of a crop on the right would even add more impact. I could see ths as a 20x30' print. It looks like a a painting....

Beautiful Buck, and he certainly knows something about posing!! I like the image alot and I also agree on the crop.Thanks for sharing it.

What a stud! I agree with the cropping suggestion. Love the snowy scene and the monster deer!
