The eyes are the bomb! If you can take a cropping, more off the top and right might work to highlight the crab more.

Nice low angle. I personally like the comp as presented. I think the bright OOF circles helps add to the seaside feel/look.

Hi Kathy,
I like the low angle. Toning down together with the slightly larger size of the crab in the repost certainly helps bring the focus on the crab.

However, I would also agree with Steve that the bright highlights gives the hint of the waves. Since you had lot of shutter speed to play around, a narrow aperture (by two more stops) might have given more depth of field and more feel of the waves, if that is what you wanted to portray.

As mentioned the low angle really makes this image and the eyes and detail are excellent. Congratulations on a fine image Kathy.

Super low angle Kathy, and you have captured good sharp detail on the little guy. Comp works well, and your repost even better.

Kathy, I vote for the original full-frame; love the open composition and the OOF highlights in that version!
