handheld, slight crop, natural light.

Taken at Bronte Creek Marina yesterday, there are 2 pair still mucking about with no nesting or chicks around. The background refection is a mixture of boat covers, dock, sailboat masts, etc... not the nicest, but interesting at least.

Special thanks to Ashley Hockenberry, Ed Cordes, Matthew Studebaker, Alex Feldstein, Fabiola Forns, Colin Carter and Scott Linstead for the recent and excellent articles posted on NIOM. (http://photographersonlinemagazine.blogspot.com/)

Ray:

Your bird is sharp & well exposed. The background effect is interesting, but I would prefer one tone or the other if possible. A bit more canvas on the left would be nice as well.

A lower shooting angle would be nice, but I suspect given your environment, wasn't possible or even desirable because it would bring the background more into play.

Cheers

I can only echo Randy's comments here. If the reflection weren't so bright on the right, I'd add more canvas on that side too.
