I like this Peter. Landscaping with a 600mm lens - now I've seen everything ;)
Like the tone of your conversion, and the comp is strong. Is there any way to get the sky a darker tone without losing the FG tone quality?

Agree with Morkel here Peter, a darker sky with better tonal separation. I find the FG contrast a bit jarring. Perhaps a sky rework will make the FG contrast strength better balanced in the image.

Hey Peter,
Glad to see others find dead trees interesting! I agree with others regarding darkening the sky......although that will change the mood and look. You can do a multiplied layer on it and reduce the opacity......or just add blacks in selective color in either the black or neutral channel. I like where you placed the main tree in the frame compositionally. Nicely done!

I also like dead trees. To me they tell a story, I just took one the other day. Great job, love the moody feeling that the B&W brings to this picture.:)
