I may have the ID wrong:) but it's probably a molting female(at least that is what I have been told from this image-Thanks for the ID!)

Denise:

Nice to see the juvi to compare to the adult you posted recently.
Sharp, well exposed, low angle. I like the shells a lot, but might be tempted to do two things
1) crop up to just above your sig. line to reduce the amount of blurry foreground
2)darken the one shell on the right side that you can see underneath. For some reason that one really jumps out at me.

Thanks for sharing!

Randy

Good capture. Personally I think the crop is fine, whatever you do will affect the image somewhat. I see what Randy is saying about the shell, but for me it adds some extra interest to the image and doesn't focus attention away from the bird too much.

Hi Denise, looks like you got down and dirty for this angle. Im amazed how these guys pose for you without scurrying all over the place. I like the detail and colours, with a complimentary BG. Im in two minds about the exposed shell, since Randy mentioned it.

Nice Work Denise. All good.
The one shell is a personal call for me.
I also feel like it could be rotated slightly.

to me this is not a juvenile bird. It looks like a molting female.
