Striking pose of a very neat bird, but I am curious about the prominent halo around all the white areas of the bird. Did you have to do significant post work here? He is very sharp, but the halo is distracting.

Like the pose too! But the blurred BG is distracting causing the halo.
The section underneath the bird around the feet have not been blurred, and is not natural.

The background was close and distracting so I started to do a gaussian blur on the background and I realized the branches were actually outlining the bird and it was giving a glow to the bird which I liked. I was wondering what other people would think.

Love the bird and his pose, Art, but the PS work is not enhancing the image, imho. Could we see the original?

As an "out of the box" image, I actually do like the halo effect. Seems somehow magical. Would clean up the transition around the feet that Mark pointed out. As a straight Avian posting, I don't think it works.

Interesting Photo Art image. If the intent was to do that, you've done well. The whites in the bird are pretty hot even for the Photo Art look
