1D2n, 600mm f4 is x1.4tc, 1/250s, f5.6. Fill flash -2.33, setting sun.

Experimenting here. I don't recall what was out of frame, but I'm intrigued by what this coot might be up to. Honest views are always appreciated.

Lovely colors on this, wish the coot was turned just a bit. Comp is working for me.

Ian, The colors are fantastic and I don't mind that he is swimming out of the frame-but do wish his head was turned back just a bit. Another lovely image!!

Hey Ian,
Agree with the above comments.....if the coot was loking back....then the space is appropriate!....as he is looking forward.....it becomes dead space. Your viewing angle is super.

Wonderful color and low angle , as stated. A bit of a head turn seems to be needed. Do like the comp.

Agree with the other on the HA. The bird also looks a bit soft, another round of USM is in order.

Sweet light, and how is that BG. Comp wise, I feel this would work just as well, with the coot moved back to the RHS. The sharpness looks fine to me. Well captured.

The unorthodox crop may have worked better if you had something to counter-balance the comp at right. As is, the negative space behind the coot does add much. I would also prefer a better HA as this one is looking away. Terrific low angle as has become your early trademark :-)
