What amazing flyers these guys are!
This one was taken Thursday morning from the kayak. My self critique is that the light angle is not great. But I loved the low flying position and thought it was kind of a unique photo.
Cheers!

Fantastic Glenn - really like the low angle and the parallel lines between the bird and the surface of the water. Don't know that I'd trust myself in a kayak with a 500mm!
cheers

Just beautiful, Glenn.
The bird looks razor sharp, and almost like a flying torpedo!
The blue hue of the water is really engaging as well.
And the direct-on low angle is the clincher for me !
Is it possible to reveal a little more detail in the shadows behind the wing at the rear of the body?

Fabulous Glenn! You get a million points from me for degree of difficulty on this one!!!

agree with your self critique but this image still holds up quite well. That low flight barely clearing the water is really intersting to see. Very nice.

Very cool image. Have you looked at a pano crop to emphasize even more the low flying position? I think it might work really well.

This is indeed a unique photo - opportunity expertly used and great technique not only to capture this, but also to handle a 500 from a kayak - nice :) ...... if I hadn't seen a bill on this I would have thought it was a dolphin .. ha ha ha (joking) - wonderful stuff !!
