Caught this little Green Heron just before dark.
Canon 40d, 500mm f4 lens@f4 1/500 sec. iso 640

FYI: Looks like the Canon 7D will be announced shortly. An APS-C sensor, 18mp, duel Digic 4 processors, 8 FPS, 19 pt. AF. Could make a nice "Birding Camera"!

60d probably not out til next year.

That 7D sounds like a dream come true, finally Canon's listening...
Hoping for a killer AF...
I think that the 18MP is unnecessary, a bit to mutch for a APS sensor... I hope I'm wrong.

I like the pose, very nice reflection, the black FG and the whitish BG, sharpness and colors.
The only downfall is the busy FG and BG

I like the soft light, eye contact and reflection. Does it need a bit CCW rotation? If it were mine I would remove the OOF grass in the foreground.

Very interesting image Daniel. i like a lot the balance between the black and white parts of the frame, really cool effect. The eye contact and pose of the heron is very nice. Would love to see this image with a more clean fore and background
