I included the edge because I thought it added interest.

Hi Denise, Love the backlit texture with the diagonal flow. The color is also appealing. For my taste I would eliminate the open corner...nice one!

Love the texture, detail and color. Ambivalent about the edge in the UL corner.

Nice colors and textures! I also agree with eliminating the UL empty corner.

Beautiful color, light, composition and patterns. I take it you uses a flash to compensate for the backlighting? I like the curve of the edge of the leaf, but think I would prefer it without.

Hey Denise,
Another vote for corner elimination......don't I get some credit for the leaf turn? You pushed that as far as you could as the wind was really picking up.....nicely done!

Roman, Thankyou for holding the leaf steady for me-I wish I had been able to stop down more. So you think I have to get rid of the corner:eek: That was the best part.
Well I guess I'll be cropping this -Thanks everyone for the feedback.:)

Sorry - me too on the corner. Now if the whole side was showing an edge...that might be different. As is, I want to see all the curves of the leaf and none of the BG. Beautiful backlighting, Denise!

Denise,

I really like this one. It has such wonderful delicate details with the color and contrast. Can you use a Wimberley Plamp at the gardens?

Thanks for sharing...

They allow tripods-so I don't see why not. I don't have one in my bag of tricks, but I will look into it! Thanks for the tip!!:)

Denise,

I added extra links to my Plamp. It's more important to me than having the greatest camera. It allows me to rotate the flower before taking the photo. Be careful not to damage the flower. I also use my extra PhotoFlex diffuser to block any wind. Hope this helps.

Keep those photos coming and many thanks for sharing....

Yes, the edge adds interest!

Lovely composition and healthy leaf. Those gardens sounds like a good place to go!
