Hi

Another photo from my recent sessions with Common Terns. At least the sun came out momentarily for this photo. I'm not sure what the fish is but mostly likely a sprat or young herring which made a change from the usual sandeel. Grey background was the reflection of the typically dark UK summer clouds overhead on the water behind.

That's quite a meal, Rich. BG is great. Good wing position and flight angle - well done.

The dark BG on this really works well to emphasize the tern. Nice image.

Love the BKRG and the wing position. SH is right on. The whites look a tad bright in spots. You needed to have the bird flip the fish around so that you could see the head....

Wing position, sharpness and BG look good and the fish adds to it. I might lighten the shadow on the far wing.

Those terns are so elegant.
lovely BG. I like the pose, good sharpness and light.
Like Artie said, if the fish were facing the front of the image, I think it would be a huge bonus.

Awesome IQ on this flight image. Yes, some of the brighter whites can be tamed a bit - and yes too bad the fish had its tail end towards us (at least its face is partially visible!). Perfect wing placement, and a very visible eye is bonus. Well done!

Very pleasing image. Your background makes the Tern pop and is very complimentary to its colors.

Thanks for replies and suggestions. The fish the other way would have been a bonus but I was just glad to actually have the sun shining for once.

Cheers
